What’s left to do, what’s left to see?
There can’t be anybody as bored as me!
I made a promise to the ones that I love,
And I did it, you see, the best way I knew of.
I was pretty important, I was very needed.
My advice, however, was never quite heeded.
The cops weren’t all keen, they said I was bad,
But they had no problems with many a lad,
Who brought crime to the streets and preyed off the fearful,
But when I was done they were not quite so cheerful.
I’ve done my job, I’ve finished it quickly,
The streets are now safe for the young and the sickly.
No need to fear, no need to fret,
The goons are all gone and their sentences set.
The city is clean, the city is gay.
That’s good news for all, but it ruins my day.
Now what do I do, now what can I say,
Nothing is wrong and no one must pay,
I never quite knew how much it would hurt,
To know that I’m now as useless as dirt,
Can I find something else? Would I know what to do?
Could I get a job like the rest of you?
I don’t think so, I don’t think that I can,
After all… I’m Batman.
